Introducing: Vanessa Kashak, O.D.

Dr. Vanessa received her degree from the Southern California College of Optometry, located in nearby Fullerton. At The Eye Clinic in Fullerton, Dr. Vanessa used her skills to help young children with visual dysfunctions, fit various contact lenses, care for low vision patients, conduct pediatric exams and treat ocular diseases such as glaucoma. During this time Dr. Vanessa also interned at a Boys and Girls Club in Garden Grove, the health center on campus at Cal State Fullerton and participated in weekly vision screenings at elementary schools in Orange County. One of her most unique experiences at The Eye Clinic was working side by side with an ophthalmologist to aid in procedures such as retinal laser treatment for diabetes and intraocular injections for macular degeneration.

Dr. Vanessa has had the opportunity to treat a wide variety of patient populations in Hawaii, Mexico, Arizona and Los Angeles before joining the practice here in Sun City. By providing excellent eye care and professional recommendations Dr. Vanessa was always able to make the lives of her patients better in some way. This pleased Dr. Vanessa as much as it did her patients!

Dr. Vanessa's professional affiliations include the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association and the American Academy of Optometry.

Born and raised in Woodcrest, Dr. Vanessa is excited to be back to serve her community! She attended Woodcrest Elementary school, Amelia Earhart Middle school and Arlington High school. Dr. Vanessa spent 4 wonderful years at the University of California, Riverside and earned her BA in psychology along with a minor in theatrical arts. Aside from loving her career as an Optometrist, Dr. Vanessa enjoys traveling, attending the theater, acting, baking, snowboarding and playing golf and tennis.

When asked why she became an eye doctor, she responded confidently, "I wanted to know a professional trade that would allow me to give to my patients, my community and to those in less privileged societies. I now have the knowledge, technology and resources that I can share with others to give them sight, treatment, education and hope that will improve their lives." Dr. Vanessa has dreamed of and planned to be an eye doctor for as long as she can remember. She feels that she was fortunate to grow up with an incredible father who was an optometrist and was inspired by the love her father had for his job.

Dr. Vanessa has always planned to be a clinical family optometrist. She looks forward to the annual visits with her patients whom she can educate, protect, and care for. "I hope to form strong, trusting relationships with each and every patient and to give them vision for the rest of their lives".
